Scope<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ABTR 2022 is the first international conference on Academia-Based Tourism Revival initiated to generate a sort of a hybrid method proposed and tested in relation to the tourism revival process in Indonesia, especially in Banyumas, Central Java following the covid-19. This conference aims to generate collective ideas of researchers, practitioners and policy makers on the sound and strategic solutions to reinvent and revive the tourism sector in the post Covid-19 era in Banyumas, Central Java, Indonesia, and establish the exchange of information on theoretical and applied research among applied linguists, linguists, and other social scientists in the field of applied linguistics, linguistics, letters, culture and other social sciences to reposition the sound roles and contributions of the scientists and researchers involved both in the academic development and economic recovery and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of this ABTR 2022 is \u2018Reinventing and Reviving the Future of Tourism in the Post Pandemic Era: Developing and Empowering Local Creativity and Innovation\u2019. The scope of the Conference is to shed light on the plan and design of strategic, theoretical and technical moves and approaches to reinvent and revive from the current Covid-19 challenges, the latest developments in the tourism sector, a sector considered as a key driver for many national and regional economies, cross-cutting cultural, environmental, political, economic, social, and technological aspects of contemporary societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conference Areas<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Each of these topic areas is expanded below but the sub-topics list is not exhaustive. Papers may address one or more of the listed sub-topics, although authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable, provided they fit in one of the following main topic areas:
1. Linguistics
2. Tourism
3. Literature
4. Culture
5. Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paper Submission<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Authors can submit their work in the form of a complete paper or an abstract, but please note that accepted abstracts are presented but not published in the proceedings of the conference. Complete papers can be submitted as a Regular Paper, representing completed and validated research, or as a Position Paper, portraying a short report of work in progress or an arguable opinion about an issue discussing ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research focused on one of the conference topic areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authors should submit a paper in English, carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling, addressing one or several of the conference areas or topics. Each paper should clearly indicate the nature of its technical\/scientific contribution, and the problems, domains or environments to which it is applicable. To facilitate the double-blind paper evaluation method, authors are kindly requested to produce and provide the paper WITHOUT any reference to any of the authors, including the authors\u2019 personal details, the acknowledgments section of the paper and any other reference that may disclose the authors\u2019 identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When submitting a complete paper please note that only original papers should be submitted. Authors are advised to read INSTICC’s ethical norms regarding plagiarism and self-plagiarism<\/a> thoroughly before submitting and must make sure that their submissions do not substantially overlap work which has been published elsewhere or simultaneously submitted to a journal or another conference with proceedings. Papers that contain any form of plagiarism will be rejected without reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All papers must be submitted through the online submission platform PRIMORIS<\/a> and should follow the instructions and templates that can be found under Guidelines and Templates<\/a>. After the paper submission has been successfully completed, authors will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Double-Blind Reviewing<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Submissions will be double blind: reviewers cannot see author names when conducting reviews, and authors cannot see reviewer names. We use OpenReview to host papers and allow for public discussions that can be seen by all, comments that are posted by reviewers will remain anonymous. The program will include keynote presentations from invited speakers, oral presentations, and posters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authors can revise their paper as many times as needed up to the paper submission deadline. Changes to the paper will not be allowed while the paper is being reviewed. During the discussion phase (between area chairs, reviewers and authors), edits will again be allowed; a pdfdiff<\/a> will be done against the submission at the paper submission deadline. Area chairs and reviewers reserve the right to ignore changes that are significant from the original scope of the paper. As in the past three years, workshops will have their own organisation and call for contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submission Instruction<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This year we are asking authors to submit paper abstracts by the abstract submission deadline of June 24th, 2022. Please note that no changes on the authors can be made after the abstract submission deadline, and make sure that all authors have an OpenReview profile with the latest information.  Abstracts submitted by the abstract submission deadline must be genuine, placeholder or duplicate abstracts will be removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The full paper submission deadline is September 30, 2022. Abstracts and papers must be submitted using the conference submission system at: http:\/\/conference.fib.unsoed.ac.id\/ojs\/index.php\/abtr\/<\/a>. The submission site will be open on April 1, 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paper Length & Paper Template<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  1. There will be a strict upper limit of 9 pages<\/strong> for the main text of the submission, with unlimited additional pages for citations. This page limit applies to both the initial and final camera ready version.<\/li>
  2. Authors may use as many pages of appendices (after the bibliography) as they wish, but reviewers are not required to read these.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Authors are strongly encouraged to participate in the public discussion of their paper, as well as of any other paper submitted to the conference. Submissions and reviews are both anonymous.     Reviewing Process<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    1. Submissions to ABTR are uploaded on OpenReview, which enables public discussion. Official reviews are anonymous and publicly visible. During the public discussion phase, anybody who is logged in can post comments that are publicly visible, or restrict visibility to reviewers and up, ACs and up, or just PCs. In addition, the author of a comment can decide to post anonymously or not. Login is required before posting any comment.<\/li>
    2. Once reviews have been posted, authors are encouraged to revise their paper until the paper submission deadline. Authors can participate in the discussion about their paper, as well as about any other paper submitted to the conference, at any time.<\/li>
    3. Full reviews are posted by November 1, 2022. Reviews are anonymous and publicly visible in Open Review. Once the reviews are posted, authors are free to upload modifications to the paper during the four weeks discussion period.<\/li>
    4. During the discussion period, if you choose to update the submission, a pdfdiff<\/a> will be applied to compare new changes to the paper against the original submission. Area chairs and reviewers reserve the right to ignore changes that are significantly different from the original paper. In addition, during this period, any submission that is cited will be given an anonymous BibTex entry.<\/li>
    5. After discussion there will be an internal discussion period amongst reviewers and ACs with the aim of summarising the review process, after which acceptance decisions are made. Papers that are not accepted will be considered non-archival, and may be submitted elsewhere (modified or not), although the OpenReview site will maintain the reviews, the comments, and links to the versions submitted to ABTR.<\/li>
    6. All submitted papers (accepted or rejected) will be deanonymized after the notification. The submissions and reviews will be released to the public.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
